Above all, know thy brand
Wow, talk about a gross miscalculation of brand perception - this faux pas by Shell takes some beating. In a jaunty introduction to the social mediasphere, it invites would-be Copywriters to put headlines to big brand Arctic imagery, in support of their plan for 'Arctic energy production to transform the world and possibly provide affordable fuel for several years' Hmmmm. Transforming the world? That's a big claim. Possibly providing affordable fuel? Note the use of the word 'possibly'. So it's hardly surprising that the headlines proffered didn't exactly toe the Shell party line. Did they seriously think they would?
